Poornima Kumar is a part of the Sustainable Alternative Futures for India (SAFARI) team at CSTEP. Her work examines the resource, energy, and emissions implications of developmental trajectories for India through a systems lens.
She obtained an MSc in Carbon Management from the University of Edinburgh, as a Commonwealth scholar and a Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation scholar. She also holds an MSc in Environmental and Infrastructure Planning from the University of Groningen, where she was an Erasmus Mundus scholar; and an undergraduate degree in architecture from Anna University.
Prior to joining CSTEP, she worked as a researcher at the Centre for Sustainable Technologies, IISc, Bengaluru.
