Sumali Moitra

Vice President - Communications and Outreach

Sumali Moitra is Vice President, Communications and Outreach, at CSTEP. He has over 25 years of combined experience as a business journalist, corporate communicator, stakeholder advocacy consultant, and columnist.

 

Prior to joining CSTEP, Sumali headed the Communications and Advocacy functions at the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), a public-private partnership between the Government of India and 10 key industry bodies, including FICCI, CII, Nasscom, etc.

 

He has also worked as Assistant Business Editor at The Times of India, and other leading media outlets.

 

As an independent advisor, Sumali has provided consulting services in the areas of communications, stakeholder advocacy, and outreach, to the National Skill Development Agency (NSDA), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India; PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) for the Asian Development Bank (ADB)-funded Himachal Pradesh Kaushal Vikas Nigam; and several approved training partners of NSDC.

Sumali holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism from  Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, New Delhi, and a Bachelor's Honours degree in English Literature from Sri Venkateswara College, Delhi University.

 

His areas of interest include public policy, stakeholder capitalism, and corporate governance.
