The Center for Study of Science, Technology and Policy (CSTEP), along with the Puducherry Climate Change Cell (PCCC) in the Department of Science, Technology and Environment (DSTE), Government of Puducherry, has developed the Climate Risk Assessment Tool (CRAT). The purpose of the tool is to visualise the climate risk to the agriculture, livestock, water, fisheries, health, tourism, and urban sectors in the UT. The tool uses the framework published in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Fifth Assessment Report (AR5) to visualise risk as an interaction of hazard, exposure, and vulnerability, together known as the determinants of risk.
