We are looking for a Senior Analyst to support the development of a cleaner, smarter, and more resilient power system. The role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of India's energy transition by addressing complex power system challenges and contributing to evidence-based policy and planning. The selected candidate will collaborate with government agencies, utilities, and other stakeholders to develop solutions for renewable energy integration, transmission network strengthening, and long-term power system planning. This is a 2-year fixed-term position offering the opportunity to contribute to high-impact national and state-level projects in the power sector.

Responsibilities 

• Conduct power system planning studies across generation, transmission, and distribution networks.
• Engage with state power sector officials to collect data required for planning studies.
• Develop technical reports, policy briefs, presentations, and other project deliverables.
• Present research findings and recommendations to senior management and external stakeholders.
• Prepare concept notes, project proposals, and research ideas on relevant topics, considering their societal impact and practical applicability.

Qualifications 

BE/ME in a relevant field (Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, or Power Systems)

Skill Set 

• Hands-on experience in transmission network planning studies.
• Experience conducting load flow, short-circuit, and transient stability studies.
• Understanding of renewable energy grid integration studies.
• Understanding of the operational aspects of power generation, transmission, and distribution.
• Ability to document and publish research findings through technical reports, journal articles, conference papers, op-eds, and newsletters.
• Willingness to undertake technical and policy research in the power sector.
• Willingness to travel for data collection and to present study findings to utilities and other stakeholders.
• Hands-on experience with power system analysis software such as DIgSILENT, PSS®E, ETAP, MiPower, and CYME.
• Knowledge of Python programming is an advantage.

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in executing transmission and distribution planning studies.
