We are seeking a technically strong and policy-oriented professional to join the Strategic Initiatives team as a Senior Analyst. The role will focus on advancing research and implementation pathways in carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS); green hydrogen; renewable energy systems; Power-to-X technologies; circular waste management solutions; and other emerging technologies. The candidate will contribute to interdisciplinary projects involving techno-economic assessment, sustainability assessment, systems modelling, policy analysis, stakeholder engagement, and strategy development to support India’s decarbonisation and net-zero transition.
Responsibilities
- Conduct techno-economic, life cycle, and market assessments for CCUS, green hydrogen, renewable energy integration, and waste-to-energy / value pathways.
- Assess policy, regulatory, financing, and infrastructure requirements for scaling emerging low-carbon technologies in India.
- Support the development of national/state roadmaps, policy briefs, technical reports, and strategic recommendations.
- Engage with stakeholders from government, industry, academia, startups, and international organisations to collect data, conduct consultations, and pursue collaborative initiatives.
- Contribute to proposal development, concept notes, grant applications, and project acquisition efforts.
- Present research findings at conferences, workshops, technical forums, and stakeholder consultations.
- Publish high-quality reports, journal papers, articles, and knowledge products.
- Mentor analysts, junior researchers, or interns and support multidisciplinary team coordination.
Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD degree in Chemical Engineering, Energy Science, Renewable Energy, Environmental Engineering, Process Engineering, Sustainability, Climate Science, or other relevant disciplines.
- Candidates with interdisciplinary academic backgrounds and demonstrated research experience in energy transition and decarbonisation will be preferred.
Skill Set
- Strong understanding of advanced and emerging climate technologies (CCUS, green hydrogen, PtX, RE, etc.)
- Familiarity with techno-economic assessment, life cycle assessment, emissions accounting, and systems analysis approaches
- Understanding of climate and energy policies, carbon markets, sustainability frameworks, and emerging global / net-zero policy trends
- Experience in data analysis, modelling, and visualisation using tools such as Python, Excel, or similar platforms
- Ability to synthesise technical findings into actionable policy and strategic insights
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing and stakeholder engagement
- Proven ability to independently manage multiple projects while collaborating within interdisciplinary teams
- Experience working with government agencies, industry stakeholders, research institutions, or international organisations will be an advantage
