Senior Analyst

We are looking for a Senior Analyst to support the development of a cleaner, smarter, and more resilient power system. The role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of India's energy transition by addressing complex power system challenges and contributing to evidence-based policy and planning.   • Hands-on experience in transmission network planning studies.
  • Experience conducting load flow, short-circuit, and transient stability studies.

Senior Analyst

We are seeking a technically strong and policy-oriented professional to join the Strategic Initiatives team as a Senior Analyst. The role will focus on advancing research and implementation pathways in carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS); green hydrogen; renewable energy systems; Power-to-X technologies; circular waste management solutions; and other emerging technologies. The candidate will contribute to interdisciplinary projects involving techno-economic assessment, sustainability assessment, systems modelling, policy analysis, stakeholder engagement, and strategy development to support India’s decarbonisation and net-zero transition.


Responsibilities


  • Conduct techno-economic, life cycle, and market assessments for CCUS, green hydrogen, renewable energy integration, and waste-to-energy / value pathways.
  • Assess policy, regulatory, financing, and infrastructure requirements for scaling emerging low-carbon technologies in India.
  • Support the development of national/state roadmaps, policy briefs, technical reports, and strategic recommendations.
  • Engage with stakeholders from government, industry, academia, startups, and international organisations to collect data, conduct consultations, and pursue collaborative initiatives.
  • Contribute to proposal development, concept notes, grant applications, and project acquisition efforts.
  • Present research findings at conferences, workshops, technical forums, and stakeholder consultations.

Qualifications


  • Master’s or PhD degree in Chemical Engineering, Energy Science, Renewable Energy, Environmental Engineering, Process Engineering, Sustainability, Climate Science, or other relevant disciplines.
  • Candidates with interdisciplinary academic backgrounds and demonstrated research experience in energy transition and decarbonisation will be preferred.


Skill Set


  • Strong understanding of advanced and emerging climate technologies (CCUS, green hydrogen, PtX, RE, etc.)
  • Familiarity with techno-economic assessment, life cycle assessment, emissions accounting, and systems analysis approaches

Senior Analyst

We are seeking a dynamic, technically skilled professional for the position of Senior Analyst on the Energy Policy and Regulations team. The Senior Analyst will play a key role in evaluating the implications of future tariff increases resulting from investments in power system reliability, resilience, security, and sustainability, as well as in electricity demand forecasting, with a strong focus on socio-economic and weather parameters that affect electricity demand. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to policy-relevant research and help shape the future of India’s energy transition.


Responsibilities


  • Lead research on developing an overall analytical framework for estimating electricity demand elasticity across consumer categories.
  • Design methodologies for assessing short-run and long-run price elasticity, income elasticity, and consumer migration to alternative supply arrangements.
  • Review existing tariff structures, open access regulations, and demand-side management frameworks.
  • Assess implications of renewable integration costs, transmission investments, and grid modernisation on consumer tariffs.
  • Lead research and analytical studies on electricity demand forecasting at national, state, DISCOM, and feeder levels, incorporating socio-economic indicators, tariff structures, and weather parameters to develop robust demand projections.
  • Track and analyse distribution sector policies, regulatory developments, and emerging technologies, generating strategic insights through data analytics and quantitative modelling to support evidence-based policy recommendations.
  • Collaborate with state and national stakeholders to promote actionable recommendations.
  • Prepare policy briefs, technical reports, presentations, and journal articles to disseminate findings.

The role will involve supporting the development and application of macroeconomic and macrofinancial models to assess the implications of India’s economic and climate transition.   • Support the development and application of macroeconomic and macrofinancial models to assess economic, financial, and climate-transition scenarios for India.
  • Conduct quantitative analysis, scenario development, and model-based assessments, and support the interpretation and validation of model results.
  • Undertake research and policy analysis on macroeconomic, financial, and climate-related issues relevant to India’s transition.

The selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating the agrivoltaics programme in the state, working closely with relevant government departments, public institutions, local stakeholders and the project team. The role will involve a combination of stakeholder engagement, field coordination, programme management, data facilitation, and reporting.


Responsibilities


  • Coordinate and support agrivoltaics-related activities and engagements across Odisha.
  • Liaise with relevant government departments, public institutions, utilities, and other stakeholders.
  • Facilitate coordination and information/data collection required for programme activities.
  • Coordinate field-level activities and support the functioning of district-level programme teams.
