We are looking for a Senior Associate with a strong understanding of both the technical and policy dimensions of energy storage and its applications in the energy and power sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality outputs within project timelines, while effectively coordinating and communicating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project objectives.


Responsibilities


  • Conduct research on energy storage technologies and their applications in the energy and power sector.
  • Undertake technical analyses related to the sizing and siting of energy storage systems in distribution networks.
  • Perform techno-economic assessments of energy storage, renewable energy, electric mobility, and electricity transmission and distribution systems to support policy and planning decisions.
  • Contribute to least-cost resource planning studies for states, including load flow, short-circuit, reliability, and contingency analyses across transmission and distribution networks.
  • Develop financial, economic, and econometric models relevant to the energy and power sector.
  • Compile and analyse energy market data, including demand, supply, and price trends and projections.
  • Engage with stakeholders across government, industry, and academia to support data collection, analysis, and project implementation.

Qualifications


  • MTech in Energy, Power Systems, or a related field, with 5–6 years of relevant professional experience in power systems and energy modelling.
  • PhD in Energy, Power Systems, or a related field is desirable.


Skill Set

Responsibilities


  • Collect, edit, and manage spatial and tabular data using ArcGIS Pro and/or QGIS.
  • Ability to perform core spatial analysis and geoprocessing tasks (e.g., overlay analysis, spatial queries, and zonal statistics) to support research projects.
  • Conduct rigorous quality assurance and control (QA/QC) for geospatial data and outputs.

  • Provide geospatial support to a multidisciplinary team of researchers and analysts.

We are seeking an Analyst for the Renewables team with a strong understanding of the technical and policy aspects of the renewable energy (RE) sector, as well as functional expertise in GIS techniques and applications. The role requires the candidate to contribute effectively to project proposals and deliverables, manage assigned responsibilities in line with project schedules, and support the achievement of project objectives. The candidate should possess strong coordination and communication skills and be able to collaborate productively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely, high-quality project delivery.


Responsibilities


  • Explore and analyse emerging developments, technologies, and trends in the RE sector at the state, national, and international levels.
  • Work at the intersection of RE and GIS, identifying innovative applications of geospatial tools and techniques to strengthen decision-making and policy formulation in the sector.
  • Conduct research and analytical studies on RE policies, regulations, and market developments to generate actionable insights and policy inputs.
  • Develop concept notes, project ideas, and proposals on high-impact, socially relevant themes in the RE sector.
  • Undertake research, data analysis, and modelling to build a strong knowledge base on sector performance, technology transitions, emerging business models, and evolving market dynamics.

We are seeking a technically strong and policy-oriented professional to join the Strategic Initiatives team as a Senior Analyst. The role will focus on advancing research and implementation pathways in carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS); green hydrogen; renewable energy systems; Power-to-X technologies; circular waste management solutions; and other emerging technologies. The candidate will contribute to interdisciplinary projects involving techno-economic assessment, sustainability assessment, systems modelling, policy analysis, stakeholder engagement, and strategy development to support India’s decarbonisation and net-zero transition.


Responsibilities


  • Conduct techno-economic, life cycle, and market assessments for CCUS, green hydrogen, renewable energy integration, and waste-to-energy / value pathways.
  • Assess policy, regulatory, financing, and infrastructure requirements for scaling emerging low-carbon technologies in India.
  • Support the development of national/state roadmaps, policy briefs, technical reports, and strategic recommendations.
  • Engage with stakeholders from government, industry, academia, startups, and international organisations to collect data, conduct consultations, and pursue collaborative initiatives.
