We are seeking a Senior Analyst to join the Renewables team. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of the technical and policy aspects of the renewable energy (RE) sector. The role involves supporting project proposals, deliverables, and timelines, while coordinating effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.

In addition, the candidate will contribute to strategic outreach, proposal development, stakeholder engagement, and communication efforts to support the team’s objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Track and analyse developments in renewable energy technologies, policies, and markets at the state, national, and international levels.
  • Conduct research on RE policies and regulations to generate actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Develop concept notes, project ideas, proposals, and pitch decks on relevant themes, considering their strategic importance and social impact.
  • Perform research and analytical tasks to build a strong understanding of RE sector trends, performance, emerging technologies, and business models.
  • Support fundraising and business development efforts by identifying opportunities, engaging with funders, and contributing to proposal development and submissions.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, including utilities, funding agencies, government bodies, industry partners, and research institutions.
  • Document and disseminate research findings through reports, policy briefs, journal publications, conferences, op-eds, and newsletters.
  • Support the development of presentations and knowledge products for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Serve as a coordination point between the Renewables team and CSTEP’s communications team for the dissemination of outputs.
  • Contribute to content development for social media, website, newsletters, and outreach activities to enhance the visibility and impact of the team’s work.

 

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or its equivalent in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Public Policy, Business, or related field.
  • 2–5 years of relevant professional experience in renewable energy, communications, or related domains.

 

Skill Set

  • Understanding of renewable energy applications, including rooftop solar, BIPV, and distributed RE systems, along with familiarity with sector concepts such as tariffs, regulations, market mechanisms, and policy landscape.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess sector developments and identify innovative approaches.
  • Experience in developing high-quality reports, concept notes, policy briefs, proposals, and communication content.
  • Experience in proposal development, fundraising support, and business development activities.

The ideal candidate will bring strong programme management and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to ensure timely delivery of outputs, facilitate inter-agency coordination, and contribute to scaling renewable energy initiatives.

  • Coordinate programme activities with utilities, state representatives, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation
  • Serve as a key interface between government agencies, state institutions, and internal teams to enable data sharing, issue resolution, and workflow alignment

The role requires the ability to independently manage research assignments, mentor junior team members, and deliver high-quality outputs aligned with organisational objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to advanced research on renewable energy technologies, with a focus on solar PV systems.
  • Conduct techno-economic assessments of RE systems, including modelling, simulation, and performance evaluation using tools such as PVSyst and HOMER.
  • Undertake analytical studies on system performance, degradation mechanisms, and optimisation strategies under varying climatic conditions.
  • Develop high-quality research outputs, including technical reports, policy briefs, journal publications, and conference papers for national and international platforms.
  • Contribute to proposal development, concept notes, and new project ideas aligned with emerging RE trends and national priorities.
