We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytically minded early-career professional to join our Adaptation and Risk Analysis Group. The ideal candidate will help translate climate science into actionable insights through rigorous review of risk and vulnerability assessments, spatial analysis, and research writing that supports evidence-based adaptation strategies across diverse landscapes and communities.
Responsibilities
- Undertake systematic literature reviews, metadata analysis, and gap assessments by coding national and regional research, reports, and case studies, contributing to the development and upkeep of a comprehensive climate vulnerability and risk knowledge repository.
- Contribute to technical reports, policy briefs, and presentations by translating complex climate risk and vulnerability assessment findings into clear, actionable insights for policymakers, practitioners, and community partners.
- Support stakeholder analysis and the organisation of capacity-building events.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental science, climate science, sustainability, disaster management, environmental engineering, natural resource management, or a related discipline.
Experience
- Experience (including internships, research projects, or academic work) in climate risk analysis, vulnerability assessment, environmental science, or related fields, with demonstrated ability to conduct a systematic literature review and translate research into practical climate solutions.
- Exposure to field research, government engagement, or climate and sustainability projects is an advantage.
- Strong data management skills (MS Office suite, Excel, and R) for spatial analysis, vulnerability and risk data visualisation, and synthesising complex datasets.
- Demonstrated research and writing capabilities, including undertaking systematic literature reviews, technical report writing, and the ability to communicate findings to diverse audiences.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with attention to detail in conducting climate risk and vulnerability assessment reviews.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in dynamic research environments.
