We are looking for an Analyst to support the planning of a cleaner, smarter, and more resilient power system. The role involves addressing complex power system challenges while contributing to evidence-based policy and planning. The selected candidate will work on renewable energy integration, transmission network strengthening, and long-term power system planning. This is a 2-year fixed-term position offering the opportunity to contribute to high-impact national and state-level projects in the power sector.
Responsibilities
- Conduct power system planning studies across generation, transmission, and distribution networks.
- Support data collection and coordinate with state utilities and other stakeholders.
- Analyse study results and prepare technical reports, presentations, and other project deliverables.
- Present technical findings to project teams, utilities, and other stakeholders.
- Contribute to the preparation of policy briefs, concept notes, and project proposals.
Qualifications
BE/ME in a relevant field (Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, or Power Systems)
Skill Set
- Understanding of power system planning and operation.
- Knowledge of load flow, short-circuit, and transient stability studies.
- Ability to document and publish research findings through technical reports, journal articles, conference papers, op-eds, and newsletters.
- Willingness to travel for data collection and to present study findings to utilities and other stakeholders.
- Familiarity with power system analysis software such as DIgSILENT, PSS®E, ETAP, MiPower, and CYME.
- Knowledge of Python programming is an advantage.
- At least 1-2 years of hands-on experience in executing transmission and distribution planning studies.
- Experience in technical report writing or research publications is an added advantage.
