Qualifications

Final-year students or recent graduates with a bachelor’s or master’s degree (or equivalent) in chemical, petrochemical, or biochemical engineering; industrial chemistry; materials science; metallurgical or electrical engineering; or a related field.

Skills and Experience

  • Internship or short-term experience in chemical plants, refineries, pharmaceuticals, or related sectors, including associated energy systems (preferred).
  • Familiarity with environmental compliance, sustainability practices, or energy efficiency initiatives.
  • Basic understanding of GHG accounting, energy audits, or environmental impact assessments.
  • Knowledge of mass transfer, heat transfer, reaction engineering, and process design.
  • Willingness to undertake technical and policy research in energy-intensive industrial sectors.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Tableau; knowledge of Python, R, or SAS is an advantage for developing economic models.
  • Ability to assess industrial operations and identify innovative solutions and approaches.
  • Strong teamwork and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
