Dr Jai Asundi

Executive Director

Dr Jai Asundi is the Executive Director of CSTEP. His current focus is on organisational development and strengthening the role of think tanks in society. In his previous roles, he mentored teams across areas spanning climate, energy, and urban development. He was instrumental in initiating the work on Air Pollution and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning at CSTEP. His broader interests lie in public policy problems, wherein science and technology play a dominant role.

Prior to CSTEP, Dr Asundi has been a post-doc at the Software Engineering Institute in Pittsburgh and subsequently a faculty member in Information Systems at the University of Texas at Dallas. He holds a BTech degree from IIT Bombay and MS and PhD degrees from Carnegie Mellon University. He is a senior member of the IEEE and an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Engineering and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University.
