We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our Artificial Intelligence and Digital Platforms team. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in building data pipelines and extracting valuable insights from complex datasets. The role involves developing, constructing, testing, and maintaining architectures that support data models and large-scale data-processing systems. This work will advance the organisation’s efforts in driving meaningful change across clean energy transitions, clean air initiatives, and climate action for a secure and sustainable society.
Responsibilities
- Designing, constructing, installing, testing, and maintaining highly scalable data management systems
- Ensuring systems meet business requirements and industry best practices
- Building high-performance, robust data pipelines
- Identifying opportunities for data acquisition and innovative uses of existing data
- Developing standard processes for data modelling, data mining, and pipeline development
- Integrating new data management technologies and software engineering tools into existing structures
- Collaborating with architects, researchers, and IT teams to achieve project goals
- Recommending strategies to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, with a keen interest in developing best-in-class data systems
Skill Set
- Proven experience in building end-to-end data pipelines for large-scale enterprise use cases and supporting machine learning model development
- Strong knowledge of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL), data modelling, and ETL processes
- Demonstrated ability to analyse requirements and translate them into effective data architectures and systems
- Proficiency in diagnosing and optimising database performance
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Interest in AI/ML and the aptitude to develop machine learning models
- Familiarity with spatial databases and GIS (preferred)
