Stakeholder Workshop on the Building-Integrated Photovoltaics Design Tool

Event Detail

India’s ambitious renewable energy goals will require innovative solar applications such as Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV). Yet, limited awareness, fragmented information, and a lack of accessible planning tools continue to hinder wider BIPV adoption.

This workshop will introduce the online BIPV Design Tool being developed to support architects, engineers, façade professionals, developers, and other stakeholders in the early-stage planning and design of BIPV projects.

Participants will learn about the Tool’s purpose, methodology, inputs, and outputs, including indicative BIPV configurations, system size, energy generation, project cost, payback period, and environmental impact. The workshop will also include live demonstrations using representative building scenarios.

The session will provide an opportunity for stakeholders to explore the Tool from a practical perspective and share feedback to help strengthen its functionality, usability, and relevance for BIPV projects in India.

What to Expect

  • – Overview of the BIPV Design Tool and its key features
  • – Insights into the Tool’s methodology and assumptions
  • – Understanding of key inputs and outputs
  • – Live demonstrations using representative building scenarios
  • – Stakeholder feedback to support further development of the Tool
