As part of the ongoing series of Capacity-Building Training Programmes on Prioritised Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) practices in Odisha, CSTEP—in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Jajpur, and with support from the Climate Resilience Cell (CRC) of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment (DA&FE), Government of Odisha—is organising its fourth training programme in Jajpur district on 19 February 2026.
The programme will train approximately 120 farmers on the top three prioritised CSA practices identified for Jajpur district. The event will be presided over by the Additional Secretary and Deputy Director of Agriculture, DA&FE, Government of Odisha; the Chief District Agriculture Officer, Jajpur; and the Senior Scientist and Head, along with other scientists from KVK, Jajpur.
Through expert-led technical sessions and on-field demonstrations, the programme will focus on promoting improved, flood-tolerant, and pest- and disease-resistant crop varieties to reduce yield losses; encouraging diversification into high-value and underutilised crops such as fruits, vegetables, and spices to strengthen farm incomes; and demonstrating soil sampling techniques to promote soil test-based nutrient management across the district. The initiative aims to accelerate the adoption of climate-resilient agricultural practices among farmers in the district.
