Advancing Sustainable Buildings in Karnataka

Event Details

The Center for Study of Science, Technology and Policy (CSTEP) is organising a half-day convening on Advancing Sustainable Buildings in Karnataka, focused on accelerating sustainability and climate action in the buildings sector.

As part of this initiative, CSTEP has undertaken a series of stakeholder consultations across the building ecosystem to examine sustainability challenges and opportunities. Insights from these engagements have informed a new report, Applying a Lifecycle Lens to India’s Building Sector: A Reflection on Decarbonisation Gaps and Stakeholder Roles, which highlights key decarbonisation gaps and outlines policy-relevant pathways for enabling low-carbon development in India’s buildings sector.

The event will feature the launch of this report, followed by a panel discussion with government officials, domain experts, and practitioners, exploring governance, policy, and implementation pathways for sustainable and climate-resilient buildings in Karnataka. The discussion aims to foster dialogue among government representatives, research institutions, and sustainability leaders to support evidence-based decision-making and collaborative action.
