As part of the first edition of the eARTh Climate Fellowship, four fellows were selected and taken through a series of workshops educating them on the science of climate change and helping them present their ideas through various art forms such as visual art and storytelling.
The nine-month fellowship programme began in January 2024 and lasted until September 2024. Fellows created individual pieces of art from January to July. Between July and September, they worked together to create an artistic piece that delved into the issues of climate change. Check out their collaborative project titled 'The Packaged Hunt' on YouTube.
Their work was displayed during the India Clean Air Summit (ICAS 2024) held from 26 August 2024 to 30 August 2024 and the second edition of the eARTh event held on 20 September 2024.
About the Initiative
The Center for Study of Science, Technology and Policy (CSTEP) launched the eARTh Initiative on 18 October 2023 in Bengaluru. The initiative is an effort to bring together artists and scientists to discuss climate change and enable citizen engagement through climate art. It aims to facilitate the creation of climate art that will trigger behavioural change among citizens.
The eARTh event is an integral part of CSTEP's initiative. Click here for more details on eARTh 2024 and to view the artwork created as part of the fellowship.
