Comparative Techno-Economic Analysis of Rooftop PV (RTPV) Systems in Various States in India
The growth of RTPV has been sluggish compared to ground-mounted installations. This study analyses the techno-economics of RTPV in different states with their respective net-metering (NM)/gross-metering (GM) regulations and state policies to assess the financial performance of RTPV systems. States having abundant amount of solar potential such as Karnataka, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu are considered. The results of this analysis show that there is a lack of favourable consumer-end economics indicated by equity Internal Rate of Return (IRR) and payback period findings.
Monte Carlo simulation of electric double-layer capacitors in Gibbs ensemble
We use molecular simulation to study the electric double-layer (EDLC) to understand this behaviour. The simulations are performed using a recently developed technique for simulating super-capacitor system. We present the application of our technique on EDLCs with the electrodes modelled as slit pores and as complex three dimensional pore networks for different electrolyte geometries.
Mean Line Design of Radial Inflow Turbine for sCO2 Power System
Closed Loop Brayton cycle power plants using supercritical carbon dioxide (sCO2) have drawn the attention of many researchers in recent times. In this power plant (using heat source from either solar or nuclear),one of the main challenges is the design of the prime mover, namely the turbine. Radial Inflow Turbine (RIT) is found to be a suitable candidate as it has many advantages over Axial Flow TurbinesTechnologies used for the design of RIT for air Brayton cycle are well established.
Machine Level Energy Efficiency Analysis in Discrete Manufacturing for a Sustainable Energy Infrastructure
Sustainable economic development necessitates a careful design of the energy infrastructure.
Institutional analysis of urban transportation in Bangalore
Institutional analysis of urban transportation in Bangalore. This paper maps and explains the institutional structure of urban transportation policy in Bangalore, India. Our critique of individual agencies and methods of policy making and implementation will demonstrate how the current setup negatively affects urban transportation planning in Bangalore. We suggest about broad institutional changes that we believe would improve outcomes and service delivery.

Utilisation of Rice Residues for Decentralised Electricity Generation in Ghana: An Economic Analysis
This publication enlighten the reader about how electricity can be produced using the rice husk at Ghana.
Developing a GIS-based Plume Rose for Industrial Chemical Incident Preparedness and Response
The variable nature of wind speed and direction affects the critical zones of chemical incidents (spills and effluents). We describe a method to develop a GIS-based “plume rose” using its corresponding wind rose to map the areas that might be affected by a chemical release incident. The plume rose can thus be used in the preparation and response phases of emergency management for an industrial chemical incident. In this study, we examine an industrial region in Bangalore, India and show that seasonal variation in winds significantly change the nature (size and direction) of the plume rose.
