Time Series GHG Emission Estimates for Residential, Commercial, Agriculture and Fisheries Sectors in India

Time series greenhouse gas emission estimates were prepared for the residential, commercial, agriculture and fisheries sectors in India, for the time period of 2005 to 2014, to understand the historical emission changes in these sectors. The emissions were estimated using 2006 methodology of the Inter-Governmental Panel on Climate Change. The results were analysed to identify the major emission contributors in these sectors and were compared with the sectoral national inventories.

A Multi-Model Assessment of Energy and Emissions for India's Transportation Sector through 2050

This paper compares frameworks and projections of energy consumption, carbon dioxide (CO2) and particulate matter (PM2.5) emissions from India's transportation sector, up to 2050. To understand the role of road transport in energy demand and emissions, five modeling teams developed baseline projections for India's transportation sector as part of intermodal comparison exercise under the Sustainable Growth Working Group (SGWG) of the US-India Energy Dialog.

Storage

CSTEP’s storage programme has two verticals: 1) techno-economic analysis of various storage systems along with policy aspects, and 2) research and development (R&D) of novel electrode and electrolyte materials for state-of-the-art and emerging battery systems using computer simulation techniques.
The activities pertaining to techno-economic analyses include storage sizing for renewable applications, prioritisation of storage options for various applications relating to clean energy and transport, feasibility analyses of indegenisation of select battery systems, etc.
