We are looking for a curious and analytical early-career professional eager to explore how economics can drive real-world climate adaptation, helping shape economic models, cost–benefit insights, and policy solutions that strengthen climate resilience across urban and rural contexts.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Collaborate with the consultant economist and project teams to develop and refine economic models assessing the impacts of climate adaptation strategies across sectors such as agriculture, water, biodiversity, and urban systems.

  • Conduct scenario analyses, review global and national evidence, and synthesise insights to strengthen frameworks for the economic evaluation and prioritisation of adaptation interventions.

  • Manage, clean, and analyse large datasets with accuracy and rigour, ensuring results are reproducible and aligned with project objectives.

  • Contribute to technical reports, policy briefs, and presentations, translating complex economic analyses into clear, actionable insights for policymakers, practitioners, and community partners.

  • Participate in field visits and stakeholder consultations to capture on-ground realities that inform and enrich the team’s research.

 

Qualifications

 

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Development Studies, Public Policy, or a related field with strong quantitative training

 

Experience

 

  • 1–2 years of experience (including internships or research projects) in development economics, policy research, or impact evaluation.
  • Exposure to field research, government engagement, or climate and sustainability projects is an advantage.

 

Skill Set

 

  • Proficiency in statistical and econometric tools such as R, STATA, or SPSS.

  • Strong data management and visualisation skills using Excel, Power BI, or basic GIS tools.

  • Understanding of impact evaluation approaches, including cost–benefit analysis and policy simulation methods.

  • Excellent writing, synthesis, and communication skills, with the ability to tailor outputs for both technical and policy audiences.

  • Proven ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary, field-linked research environments, with strong attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.
