Dr Kumar Sarang is a Senior Associate in the Air Quality Observations group at CSTEP.
He completed his BSc (Hons) in Chemistry from Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi; his MSc in Chemistry from Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi; and his PhD in Chemical Sciences from the Institute of Physical Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw, Poland.
Prior to joining CSTEP, he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the National Institute of Chemistry, Ljubljana, Slovenia. Before his PhD, he worked as a Junior Research Associate at ITC Life Science & Technology Centre, Bengaluru, and a Production Chemist (Resin House) at Asian Paints Ltd, Kasna, Noida.
His areas of interest include industrial decarbonisation for large and MSME manufacturing sectors, energy and climate policy and regulation, energy auditing, GHG accounting, energy transition and energy efficiency, impact assessment study, circular economy, and waste to energy.
