The DEFT project aims to operationalise ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA) in urban planning through a scalable decision-support tool. Funded by the Global EbA Fund, DEFT tests how nature-based solutions can help cities adapt to climate risks such as floods, heat, and ecosystem degradation. The project brings together spatial analysis, risk mapping, and community engagement to co-design adaptation pathways that prioritise both ecosystems and equity. The key objectives of the project include mapping blue-green urban systems, assessing climate risks, and recommending cost-effective EbA typologies.

In this regard, CSTEP, supported by the Global EbA Fund, is organising a Stakeholder Engagement Workshop to share an overview of the project, present key findings from the Hebbal pilot, and gauge interest and buy-in from the intended user groups.
