We are seeking a talented data engineer to join our team. You will be instrumental in developing, constructing, testing, and maintaining architectures to support data models and large-scale data processing systems. Your work will support us in leveraging the power of data to drive meaningful change in clean energy transition, clear air, and climate action for a secure and sustainable society.
Responsibilities
- Design, construct, install, test, and maintain highly scalable data management systems.
- Ensure systems meet business requirements and industry practices.
- Build high-performance and robust data pipelines.
- Create research opportunities for data acquisition and new uses for existing data.
- Develop standard processes for data modelling, data mining, and data pipelines.
- Integrate new data management technologies and software engineering tools into existing structures.
- Collaborate with architects, researchers, and IT team members on project goals.
- Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, with a keen interest to develop quality data systems.
Experience
1 – 3 years
Skill Set
- Strong knowledge of and experience with database technologies (SQL, NoSQL), data modelling, and ETL processes.
- Proven experience as a data engineer or a similar role.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand requirements and translate them into data architectures and systems.
- Ability to diagnose and optimise database for performance.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with machine learning, spatial databases, and GIS would be a plus.
