We are looking for a dedicated intern to support our research and analysis efforts in the field of data centre decarbonisation in India. The selected candidate will work with an industry partner (engaged with CSTEP) in this segment and play a pivotal role in advancing our understanding of the current state of data centre emissions and identifying strategies for decarbonisation from 2025 to 2030.
Responsibilities:
Literature Survey
- Conduct an extensive literature review on data centre emissions, decarbonisation trends, and best practices.
- Summarise and synthesise relevant research findings.
Standards Assessment
- Examine the existing industry standards related to data centre emissions and sustainability.
- Evaluate the alignment of Indian data centres with these standards.
Emissions Analysis
- Analyse and quantify Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions of data centres in India.
- Identify major contributors to emissions and potential reduction opportunities.
Decarbonisation Strategies
- Research and propose innovative strategies and technologies for decarbonising data centres in India.
- Develop a roadmap for achieving decarbonisation targets from 2025 to 2030.
Data Collection and Analysis
- Gather data from various sources, including data centre operators and government reports.
- Utilise data analysis tools to derive insights and trends.
Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and documentation of research findings.
- Communicate research results to the team and stakeholders.
Qualifications
The applicant must be pursuing or have recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's in a related field (e.g., Electronics, Environmental Science, Energy Engineering, etc.).
Skill Set
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Passion for environmental sustainability and climate change mitigation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., MS Excel, data visualisation software).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
