Consultant (Energy Modelling)

The consultant will be involved in developing long-term energy-economy models for various sectors. This work will be within the Climate Change Mitigation domain of the Climate, Environment, and Sustainability sector.

Responsibilities

• Perform data collection, literature reviews, and model development.
• Help develop long-term scenarios for India’s decarbonisation.
• Keep track of latest developments/announcements in climate policies and publications.
• Perform outreach duties by participating in stakeholder consultations on modelling analyses.
• Contribute to report writing, policy briefs, and other forms of dissemination.

Qualifications

PhD in energy modelling/sustainability/economics.

Experience

5-6 years experience working on aspects of energy modelling.

Skill Set

•  Applied knowledge of energy modelling of power sector, buildings, transport, and industries.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
• Critical-thinking skills (systematic interpretation of data to contribute to innovative research methodology).
• Ability to efficiently manage work in multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently and also within the larger framework of a team.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point).
• Familiarity with India’s development, energy, emissions, and climate policies/sectors.
• Knowledge of system dynamics modelling.
