Dr. Sachchida Nand Tripathi is a Higher Administrative Grade (Senior) Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Kanpur, where he also holds the Arjun Dev Joneja Chair in Civil Engineering.
Prof. Tripathi has made impactful contribution in the area of air pollution and climate change. He has built ground-breaking innovative approaches for indigenously-built low-cost sensor-based network technologies for nation-wide urban air-quality monitoring and real-time source apportionment. His work on Taj Mahal discolouration has led to policy interventions in Agra city.
Prof. Tripathi is the lead Coordinator of the National Knowledge Network, formed under the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP); an Expert Member of the NCAP Steering Committee,MoEFCC; and Member, Executive Council, Climate Change Programme, Department of Science and Technology.
A recipient of the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award and the J C Bose National Fellowship, Prof. Tripathi is also an elected fellow of the Indian National Science Academy, the Indian National Academy of Engineering, and the National Academy of Sciences of India, and was a Senior Fellow at NASA Goddard Space Flight Centre.
He is also on the editorial board of Environmental Science and Technology Letters, Journal of Aerosol Science, and Environmental Science: Atmospheres.
