Dr S S Krishnan holds a PhD as well as a master's in Computer and Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York. Prior to CSTEP, he has worked with the Robotics Institute and Carnegie Mellon University. He has worked extensively on major collaborative projects with Indian and global entities in the modelling, analysis and policy aspects of energy efficiency, low-carbon growth and industrial manufacturing. He works on various studies in the context of national goals represented by India’s voluntary commitments to reduce the intensity of its carbon emissions. He works closely with several committees supporting the formulation of India's 12th Plan and the Planning Commission's Low Carbon Expert Committee of the Government of India.
