Climate Change Vulnerability and Adaptation in South Asia
October 31, 2014
Climate change is expected to have a range of impacts on the South Asian region which is regarded as one of the areas of the world most vulnerable to the effects of global warming. Assessing vulnerability to climate change and integrating this knowledge with low carbon development pathways in South Asian countries is critical. The study documents processes and mechanisms that could improve climate resilience at the district level and in local communities. One of the main goals of this brief study was to gain a better understanding of climate change vulnerability and adaptation in select sites in South India and Nepal using different top-down and bottom-up approaches to assess climate vulnerability.
