On July 30th, Shri. Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission of India, visited CSTEP to learn more about its operations and methods.
CSTEP has been engaged in dialog with the Planning Commission, and the Deputy Chairman's visit was an opportunity to enhance knowledge sharing among the organizations.
After being welcomed to CSTEP by Dr. V.S. Arunachalam, the Deputy Chairman was given an introduction to CSTEP by Dr. Rahul Tongia.
This was followed by presentations by Dr. S. S. Krishnan on the Energy Efficiency Program, Dr. Mridula Bharadwaj on New Battery Materials, Mrs. Sujaya Rathi on Saving Cities and Building Towns, and a demonstration of the Next Generation Infrastrusture Laboratory's Disaster Management and Energy Simulation Games.
