Air pollution in urban India has increased in the past few years and has become a matter of concern for citizens across the nation. There remains a definite need to improve evidence-based analysis and have public engagement for making a change in our air quality. On the same context, CSTEP alongwith Azim Premji Philanthropic Initiatives(APPI), is organized a roundtable discussion towards the creation of Bengaluru Clean Air Platform(B-CAP). B-CAP is also envisaged to be an open platform, consisting of several key stakeholders, to support research activities, and initiate citizen engagement programmes and provide evidence for policy makers to improve air quality in Bengaluru.
Eminent guests were part of the meeting including Mr. P. Ravi Kumar, I.A.S, Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Forest, Environment and Ecology Department Bangalore. Mr Ananth Padmanabhan, CEO, Azim Premji Philanthropic Initiatives and Dr Jai Asundi, Research Coordinatior, CSTEP was also present, alongside other dignitaries.
